BOK’s Top 10: Week 4

No doubt remains: Texas is on top. Photo: Texas Athletics

  1. Texas, 3-0

Our Longhorns proved they have elite depth at every position and look the part of the most complete team in the nation to this point, defeating UTSA 56-7 on the back of Arch Manning’s 5 TDs in replacement duty. This is where the fun begins.

  2. Ohio State, 2-0

We’ll know more about the Buckeyes after Big Ten play starts on 9/28. They get Marshall in the Horseshoe next coming off a bye week.

  3. Ole Miss, 3-0

The Rebels crushed Wake Forest on the road, 40-6, and have not only shown elite offense but defense as well, to this point. Scheduling is looking fairly manageable - don’t sleep on the Lane Train.

  4. Tennessee, 3-0

65 first half points?? Calm down there in Knoxville! What did Kent State do to you, Josh Heupel?? Vols face their next road test for GameDay in Norman after the 71-0 destruction.

  5. Georgia, 3-0

Georgia suddenly looked very beatable and only just survived the upset bid from Kentucky, 13-12. The Bulldogs being this flawed presents a very interesting shakeup in the SEC going forward.

  6. Alabama, 3-0

Alabama is Alabama. Wisconsin is…well…not. A 42-10 victory for the Tide takes them into a bye week before the big showdown with my #5 team.

  7. Miami, 3-0

Cam Ward may and should be many people’s Heisman front-runner to this point, as Miami boatraced Ball State 62-0. I for one will be waiting on any Heisman talk until at least 6 weeks into the season. The U is on fire.

  8. Missouri, 3-0

Coming off a 27-21 win over a feisty Boston College squad, the Tigers ease into conference play before a tougher October/November stretch.

    Next: vs. Vanderbilt

  9. USC, 2-0

Rested before a date with the Wolverines on Saturday gives another benchmark for both teams.

    Next: @ Michigan

  10. Kansas State, 3-0

One of the most impressive wins of the week for me as K-State rolled over Arizona, 31-7 in Friday night’s Cat Fight. This was a non-conference game, btw! They’ll meet another cat team in Provo Saturday night for their true conference opener.

    Next: @ BYU

  11. Oregon, 3-0

Ok, nearly back in the good graces for running over your rival on the road, 49-14 in Corvallis. Still need to see more after those first 2 squeakers.
