BOK’s Top 10: Week 5

  1. Texas, 4-0

It wasn’t a perfect game from Arch Manning in his first career start, but it didn’t need to be. The defense was smothering yet again in the 51-3 win over ULM, and a healthy balance of run and pass carried the day for our #1 Longhorns.

  2. Ohio State, 3-0

Cruising to a 49-14 victory over Marshall, the Buckeyes are just beginning to warm up. Don’t look for the Spartans to challenge them this week.

  3. Tennessee, 4-0

Rocky Top! The Vols look like a true contender following the 25-15 win over Oklahoma that was never really that close. They showcased a strong defensive effort that could make the difference in taking things up a notch for this season.

  4. Ole Miss, 4-0

52-13 over Georgia Southern - not much to say here. Lane Train quietly rolling right along.

  8. Penn State, 3-0

Righting the ship with a 56-0 win over Kent State, we’ll see if the Nittany Lions are ready for upstart Illinois.

  9. Oregon, 3-0

Got here by way of other teams losing or having poor performances. Not sold on the Ducks yet but we’ll find out more in a few weeks.

  10. Utah, 4-0

Utes look like the clear favorite in the Big 12 after their 22-19 win in Stillwater and Kansas State’s disaster in Provo. Even without Cam Rising this is a well rounded football team - they’ll likely need him to have any kind of elite success, though.

    Next: vs. Arizona

  11. Michigan, 3-1

Not having the ability to throw the football may catch up with the Wolverines, but it was still an awesome win over USC, 27-24, and kept their season hopes alive for now.

    Next: vs. Minnesota
