Heisman Race: Week 7

  1. Michael Penix, Jr., QB, Washington

Penix grabs the top spot again - and he’s the clear favorite now. With his 4 TD game vs. the Ducks and Caleb Williams’ struggles against Notre Dame, he significantly improved his chances of winning the award. If Washington continues to win, it would be hard to see him not thrive.

  2. Dillon Gabriel, QB, Oklahoma

Gabriel had the week off he will get a chance for some stat padding with a game against UCF coming up on Saturday. Still 3rd in the nation in QBR.

  3. Bo Nix, QB, Oregon

A really valiant effort and a great game played on the road from Nix. If he can keep his Ducks winning he’ll be right in this conversation until the end. Will have some opportunities to bolster stats as well as some additional big matchups in the last half of the season. Best TD-to-INT ratio (17-to-1) of any quarterback in FBS.

  4. Caleb Williams, QB, USC

It was a rough outing for Williams against Notre Dame, especially in the turnover department as he threw 3 INTs and fumbled once. Getting walloped in a marquee game like that doesn’t bode well for his chances of repeating for this award.

  5. Jayden Daniels, QB, LSU

Daniels just keeps putting up amazing performances as he threw for 325 with 3 TDs and 1 INT in the blowout win over Auburn. Unlikely to win this award because of the early season losses but it’s hard to argue that he isn’t the most valuable player for his team.
